West Pokot County is located in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It is named after the Pokot people, one of the indigenous communities in Kenya.

The county is known for its rugged terrain, characterized by hills, valleys, and escarpments. Agriculture, livestock farming, and small-scale trade are the primary economic activities in the region.

Efforts are ongoing to address these challenges and improve the
living standards of the residents in the county.

The Mukusu Scholarship Program is seeking to provide education to the young people in and around the peaceful rural town of Kapenguria, on the southern border of the nomadic region.

Opportunities for children from poor families

The Mukusu Scholarship Program is currently supporting
30 students in West Pokot County, Kenya.

We have not set a goal for the number of scholars we will support as of yet. However, we do know that the increased number of scholarships that we offer would not be possible without the generous donations from you and those that have supported Daylight Model School over the past 16 years / transforming lives of bright students from poor families by steadily increasing their opportunities to join secondary school.
